ABOUT UGACAT

Uganda Conservation Approaches and Technologies

Uganda Conservation Approaches and Technologies (UGACAT) is affiliated to the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT), a global network on Sustainable Land Management (SLM) that promotes the documentation, sharing and use of knowledge to support adaptation, innovation and decision-making in SLM. Based in Bern, Switzerland, WOCAT has developed standard tools for documenting, monitoring and evaluating Sustainable Land Management (SLM) know-how and for disseminating it around the globe as a means of facilitating the exchange of experience.

WOCAT works through a global network of national, regional and international institutions. In Uganda, WOCAT has a partnership with the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) through the Sustainable Land Management (SLM) project, and the Uganda Land care Network (ULN) to create UgaCAT, Uganda’s version of WOCAT. Through this site, UgaCAT facilitates the development of the WOCAT global database by enabling trained and registered data collectors upload captured data for review and final submission. The site also links all users to the global WOCAT site and database of conservation approaches and technologies.

To link to the global database, click the UGACAT tab in the main menu and get the filtered results for Uganda. You may then change the search parameters as desired.
